Admission Process

Learning at Riffa Views International School (RVIS) evolves to support students at every step of their education. From Early Childhood to High School, our programs nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love for discovery while preparing students for success.

Internal Admission Process – Guidelines

Effective Date: August 31, 2025

Stage 1: Initial Application Submission

  • Applicants must submit the following documents for their application to be considered valid
  • Academic Transcripts
  • Middle and High School applicants must provide stamped original transcripts for the past three academic years
  • Early Years applicants (age 6 and above) must provide at least one year of academic transcripts

Attendance and Behavior Reports

A summary of attendance and behavior must accompany the transcripts, including:

  • Number of days present and absent
  • Reasons for absences, if available
  • Behavioral notes or conduct evaluations from the current or previous school

Applications missing these reports will not be processed

Identification Documents

  • Valid CPR and Resident Visa copies for one parent
  • Valid CPR and Resident Visa copy for the student

Additional Documents

  • Completed application form
  • Proof of payment (Receipt of BHD 100)
  • CAT 4 Test Results
  • Interview result, if applicable

Back-End Process

  • Review the application
  • Consult with the counselor and/or principal if learning support is needed
  • Schedule an admissions meeting with parents
  • Move the application to Stage 2

Additional Notes

  • No student will be accepted unless the file is complete
  • A missing residency document (Iqama) must have valid justification and pre-approval from the Superintendent
  • Academic records, behavior reports, and attendance summaries are mandatory
  • Incomplete files will be placed on hold until all required documentation is provided

Stage 2: Assessment Process

  • Early Childhood applicants complete an interview assessment
  • Grade 1 and above applicants complete the CAT 4 assessment
  • Feedback is obtained from an Academic Head or Principal to assess academic readiness and social fit within the school community

Meetings

Primary, Middle, and High School

  • If there are no concerns, a place will be offered to the student.
  • If concerns are identified, a meeting may be required with the counselor, learning support teacher, and/or class teacher.

Nursery and Pre-K

  • If there are no concerns, a place will be offered to the student.
  • If concerns are identified, a meeting may be required with the counselor, learning support teacher, and/or class teacher.

Stage 3: Admission Decision

Acceptance

  • Parents will be notified of the acceptance
  • Conditional acceptance requires a follow-up meeting to set terms, review the process, and establish assessment points, with a minimum of two checkpoints
  • The school will provide a welcome package for the student
  • The student's start date will be added to the school portal
  • Contact information will be updated, and parents will be added to relevant groups if applicable
  • Primary and Secondary Administration will be informed of the student's admission

Deferment

  • Families may reapply after six months

Denied

  • Families cannot reapply

Declined

  • The school will send a survey to the family
